Pleasant and quiet town at the foot of the mountains, Bergamo offers tourists a beautiful medieval town, in the upper part of the city. Surrounded by sixteenth-century walls, the old core contains monuments of great interest, including the Colleoni Chapel and the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, and enticing glimpses of Bergamo combine to make one of the major art cities of Lombardy. Two faces of the same city: Bergamo Alta and Bassa.
Despite being one of the major urban centers of Lombardy, Bergamo is characterized by an important network of pedestrian and cycle paths and a strong integration between the city and the surrounding environment. It is a hilly region crossed by forests, terraced gardens and vineyards, full of trails.
It’s a ice city to visit during a tour in a vintage car.
